In January 2010 I was stupid and on a trip to Amsterdam had unprotected oral (receiving) with a SW for a few minutes. I was too drunk to achieve an erection so she gave up pretty quickly. She gave me a dry rub (dry humping) trying to get me going but to no avail. When I sobered up I got worried about STDs. A few weeks later I took a Z-pack, a course of Zithromycin and since then have had no effects or symptoms. I got a mild case of pink eye a month ago (July) but suspected a viral infection. to be safe
.
I am in a married and have been faithful, except for that stupid stunt. What are my chances of having a STD? and after the meds I've taken can I presume I have taken care of anything I may have caught?
It is early August and have no symptoms of any STD (genital) that normally show.
Thanks
Well besides the fact that you self perscribed, something we totally don't recommend ..."yata-yata-yata.." I'm going to be honest.
You had a low risk encounter to begin with.
Your chances of having an STD are just about zero. I don't know how many weeks (post exposure) exactly for when you took the medication, this is why I can't say for certain its zero for bacterial STDs. Of course the anitbiotics didn't cover the possible risk for herpes or HPV (both are viruses --antibiotics don't work on viruses). But yes, its now august, I would bet my money on it that you don't have genital herpes (or anything else for that matter).
Thank you for your comment. I work for a South African contractor flying materials into and out of afghanistan. With my schedule and our sometimes "primitive" living
conditions finding a nice clean STD clinic is some what problematic.
I understand your concerns about self medicating but in this situation getting meds is easier than talking to a health provider you can trust.
Once again... thanks for the response.
