Just a quick question.Will Cefalexin be a sucessful antibiotic for the treatment of Chlamdia ???

Cefalexin is part of the cephalosporin antibiotic group and antibiotics from this group are used to treat gonorrhea .so will it not work for Chlamdia.

Here is the updated treatment regimen from the CDC for gonorrhea -

It does make mention of some cephalosporins, but it does not mention cefalexin.  The brand name for that, at least in the US, is keflex.  That is not a treatment for gonorrhea.  You might get lucky and it might work, but it certainly isn't proven to.

It will also not cure chlamydia.

Went back to my doctor who has now given me a Doxycline 100mg 1 a day for 2 weeks .
is this a normal way to take Doxycyline or could I take it 200mg twice a day for 1 week..
