Asymptomatic then symptoms - women?

Hello all and thanks for helping,

My girlfriend was diagnosed with chlamydia, so i just assumed that I had it as well.  I also assumed I gave it to her but was asymptomatic, a weighty and uneducated assumption but I have had a lot more sexual partners than her.  

My test came back negative, and she has been with me for right over 4 months.  She broke up with her last boyfriend around 5-6 months ago and claims to have not had any more partners since then.  She just began to show symptoms about a month ago.  She also claims this is her first outbreak ever.  

I know that many people can by asymptomatic, but I did not know the likelihood of her being asymptomatic then suddenly show symptoms.  Also we have been having unprotected sex since we started dating, so I kind of feel like that if she had it all along she would of passed it on to me.

so I guess my questions are,
what is the likelihood of her being asymptomatic then show symptoms, umm... unwarranted without sleeping with somebody that had it?
and if we had unprotected sex probably bout 5-7 times a week for bout 3-4 months, could she still not of passed it to me?
