Burning sensation in penis

Burning sensation in penis

I recently went to a GUM clinic to be tested for a STI, i was suffering with a burning/stinging sensation in my penis,( i have had unprotected sex with 2 women) they said i had inflamation (inflammation) so gave me a coarse of doxycycline for 7 days( i am still waiting to hear what i have got) i have now finised the coarse of antibiotics for 2days but still have the burning sensation in my penis which i thought would have gone? i have the burning sensation on and off at anytime of the day not just when urinating. is there any posibilities that the antibiotics have not worked? or could this be something else than a STI? I am very worried
Thanks

Sometimes gonorrhea can be mistaken for chlamydia.  Sometimes you can have both.  The antibiotic given to you will treat chlamydia and NGU but not gonorrhea.  It is possible you were not treated properly.

It might but the preferred treatment in the US for gonorrhea is Ciproflaxin

CDC no longer recommends the treatment of gonorrhea with either doxycycline nor cipro. The recommended medications are oral cefixime or Im rocephin. There is a growing number of resistent strains of gonorrhea. Good luck.

Give the antibiotics a couple of weeks.  NSU or NGU is an infection that cannot be identified specifically as chlamydia or gonorrhea.  It is treated like chlamydia would be treated.
