Can you have a false negative for chlamydia

Last summer both my partner and I went through a series of std testing which also included chlamydia and we both came back negative. I just went to my yearly pap smear and they test for chlamydia and some other things everytime since there is rarely symptoms and can be very dangerous. My Chlamydia test came back positive so I immediately accused him of cheating because I know I am faithful. Is there any way the test last year could have been a false negative?

Probably not, more likely that you recently got a false positive.
