Cephalexin heighten chlamydia symptoms?

by MsWorry, Jul 02, 2009 06:06PM
I just started taking Cephalexin recently and I've started having vaginal itching. If I already had chlamydia (or any other STD), would the cephalexin start causing me to exhibit symptoms of this or any other STD? Or could it be something else?

It is probably a yeast infection.  Antibiotics, especially strong ones, tend to cause yeast infection or thrush because good bacteria are being killed as well as the bad.  This caused an overgrowth of the natural yeast in our bodies.  Call your doctor and tell them of the itching.  They will probably prescribe flucanizole or a cream to treat the yeast infection after you finish your antibiotic treatment.
