Chlamydia IgG Ab

I've just had a STD screen.  The Chlamydia PCR urine test came back "not detected" but the Chlamydia IgG Antibody blood test was positive - 1.62.  Does this mean I have an infection or not?  I had a case of Chlamydia over 10 years ago which was cleareed by antibiotics.  Could the positive Ab test be a remnant from that?

blood test aren't recommended becasue they can not determine a current infection from a past infection. If your urine test was negative then you are negative at this time for Chlamydia and your blood test was picking up the antibodies from your infection 10 years ago.

Thanks for the feedback.  I was hoping this was the case.  The urine test was definitely negative so can I be assured I don't have an infection now.  I'm in a relationship and wouldn't want to pass on an infection.

yes you can be assured you don't have it if your urine was negative... be sure that both you and your partner test for all other STDs prior to unprotected sex. =)
