Chlamydia Problem

by Poonie86, Oct 07, 2008 03:33AM
Can you get Chlamydia through oral sex and if so can they tell when you get a annual pap smear or do they have to swab your mouth.

Chlamydia isn't an oral infection, so you don't need to worry about that, but to test for oral stds (gonorrhea is the most likely, and its not all that common), you'd need an oral swab.

A pap test only looks for abnormal cells on your cervix.  There is a new pap smear that also tests for chlamydia and trich, but not that many are using it, and it seems to have some false positives.  For me, I'd want a regular pap smear and separate std testing done.  You'll have to ask your doctor if he/she's been doing std testing on you in the past or not.
