Chlamydia and PID

I was recently treated for chlamydia.  I had no symptoms and was very surprised that I had it.  After taking the medicine, I was retested, and my culture came back negative.  My question is, since chlamydia can cause pelvic inflamitory disease, could I have PID and not know it?  My pap smear came back normal, does that mean that I do not have PID?

Yes you could have PID and not know it... You would need to have certain examines to determine whether you were infected... below is a great website on PID.

But I saw on this forum that auntiejessi said that if you had a pelvic exam, the doctor would have had noticed that something was wrong with your cervix, correct?
