Chlamydia in Throat?

I performed oral sex on a man and 2 days later started with a sore throat that I have had on and off for 3 months.
I have had a throat swab done for gonorrhea whih came back negative and a normal throat swab which came back normal. My doctor tells me it cannot be chlamydia as it cannot survive well in the throat? But still my throat is sore.
Should I get a throat swab for chlamydia? How likely is it to be that?

Also - what would treat chlamydia in the throat? I have had 1000mg of Azithromycin - would that have treated chlamydia in the throat if it was that?

Your doctor is correct it is rare to occur in the throat as it doesn't survive well in the mouth do to salivia, the treatment would be the same 1gm of zithromax or doxy.
You can still get a swab to ease your mind but your doc is right.

Does the bacteria die in the throat or stay there until treated?
