Chlamydia in throat

I recently tested positive for Chlamydia.  I got it from my partner.  I took the one time dose of Azithromycin but the same day I performed oral sex on the guy who gave it to me.  Does this mean that I need to be treated again and I have it in my throat?  I have been sick with sinus congestion and a sore throat for a long time now and just wondering if this might be the cause.  Does Azithromycin kill Chlamydia throughout the body?  How long does it take for it to work?

Since you did it the same day you took the meds, you are probably fine, especially since chlamydia rarely infects the throat.  However, if he hasn't been treated, do not have sex with him.  It takes 7 days for the meds to work, so you all can have sex again on day 8 after he gets treated.

If you did get it orally, the meds will work for wherever you have it in your body.
