Chlamydia or Prostate Infection

A few weeks ago I began having a irritation when i urintated.  I would feel a burning/stinging sensation in the tip of my penis.  Then the discomfort began to come and go and all times, specifically when sitting.  I would have the sensation that the tip of my penis was cold or wet.  I had no discharge that i noticed.  I also had the urge to urinate more frequently.   The only discharge like thing i observed is one morning, becuase i was concerned, i pulled back the lips of the penis head and noticed it looked a little mucusy.  but never had any "drip" type syptom (symptom).

I took an at home urine test that i mailed out to a lab and the results indicated the detection of chlamydia.  During this time period i also went to a doctore.  the doctor diagnosed me with an infection of the prostate and put me on doxicycline for 30 days.

the question is could the presence of the prostate infection cause a false positive on the chlamydia test?  my dr did and exam and urine test and did not indicate to me that i had chlamydia.

so, could the intitial test be wrong?  do my symptoms appear to be typical for a prostate infection?  should i get a second opinion?

I wouldn't trust a home test over your doctor's test, assuming your doctor did a chlamydia test.  

Did he do a prostate exam?

If you are taking the meds already, your test won't be reliable anyway, and you could have prostatits because of chlamydia.
