Chlamydia test

by blueeyes401966, Dec 02, 2008 09:53AM
5 weeks ago i had a urine test for chymidia, 8 moths ago i was given antibiotics for it and it cleared after unprotected sex with a woman, my sexual contact with my wife in that time has been minimal to nil.
My urine test 5 weeks ago came back negative, then 3 weeks later i slept with my wife but before then i thought i had symptons. 3 days after sleeping with my wife i went to the doctors who sent me back to the clinic for swabs, these also came back negative.
I have now had another urine test as i thought i had it again, i had swollen glands in the groin, a feeling in my penis but no discharge from the penis or urine pain. I also had a hot feeling in my testicles.

Is it possible that this test could be negative?

Yes, its possible.

Have you had your prostate checked?  An ultrasound on your testicles?  It sounds as if you have something other than an std going on if you keep getting negative tests.

Thanks for that AJ, i have results this Friday so am a little Nervous...the consultant at the clinic said it is unlikely I have Chlamydia, but i was still worried hence having another urine test. They were quite abrupt about me going back at GMU clinic.
Do you think its sounds like something else?

My sypmtons now are swollen glands in the lower abdomen going to the groin and ache in testicals and feels different when i ejeculate, absolutely no pain when passing urine??

I very much appreciate your thoughts

If this test comes back negative, you need to follow up with your GP and get checked for prostatitis, etc.  I'd bet something else besides chlamydia is happening here.

I can't put a value to it.  If you had sex with your wife after having sex with the other woman, and before you were treated, its possible this test will come back positive.

Was your wife ever treated?

No, My wife has never known....I had sex with my wife 2-3 weeks after having a negative urine test, I then had a swab test 3 days after having sex with my wife which was laso negative.
from the time after a was treated for Chlamydia i have had little or no sex with my wife, this has been me giving here oral sex but not her giving it me.
Or hand releif only, no intercourse.

Thanks AJ, confirm that my urine tests came back clear from GUM....I had sex with my wife over 3 weeks ago now and these tests are clear, does this mean what i think it does in that neither of us could have it???

I will now attend the doctors safe in the knowledge that it is something else and hope for the best, the only sympton i now have is slightly swollen glands.

Note that after my test they also gave me anti biotics x 4 azithromycin, would this have been just precautionary?

Sorry about all the questions and i sincerely thank you for your help here, it is valued so much and you have been of great help, believ me this has saved my marriage.

You are chlamydia free, and need to see your doctor for follow up.

Yes, since you were having symptoms, they gave you meds - that's pretty common, and if you had chlamydia, you would have already been treated by the time the results came back.

Oh and when you talk to your doctor, let him/her know that your symptoms did improve with the meds.  It might help them determine a diagnosis.
