Chlamydia wont go away

I was tested positive for Chlamydia on July 8th - prescribed 2 pills of zithromax, the discharge was still present after 1 week and 5 days of taken the pills so I went back to the doctor he prescribed 2 pills a day for 7 days of  Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg.  I'm on day 5 of the treatment but I still see a discharge.  If on day 7 the problem doesn't go away what should my next step be?  Can chlamydia be resistant to antibiotics?  I am a male by the way.

I think the next step would be a prostate exam, and a test to see what antibiotics the chlamydia will be respond to.  Its called a sensitivity test.
