Chlamydia won't go away

so i was diagnosed with chlamydia around march of this year. i took azithromycin (1 pill 1 time)  and the symptoms were still there. i was prescribed another dose of azithro and metronidazole. still had symptoms, got retested and the results came back negative, but i'm sure it's a false negative bc i was still burning. i left it alone (bad idea). My gf went and got tested and came back positive with chlamydia, so her doctor prescribed her and me 1 week of doxy (2 pills a day). i just finished my dose on sunday and it's STILL burning. what's going on here???

i'm thinking either i have a drug resistant chlamydia or it's not chlamydia at all. i was thinking about taking those big doses of zithromax (4 pills at once) and seeing if that worked. any ideas?

I wouldn't take any more meds until you get tested or see your doctor.  My guess is there is more than chlamydia going on here.

well that's what i was thinking, but what could it be?? my gf only got tested pos for chlamydia, and nothing else, not even trich like i thought it would be. i can't think of anything else. it can't a yeast infection either bc i took metronidazole to kill the fungus.

Metronidazole won't kill yeast.  Its an antibiotic, not fungal.

I had similar. It's three years on and they still haven't been able to tell me what's wrong. They've tested me several times and say I've got nothing but can't offer me any other suggestions.

Have you had a prostate exam?  Been to a urologist?
