I get tested atleast once every year for STDs. Last January (2010) I was tested and everything was negative. This past January (2011) I was tested again and the tests came back and said that I have Chlamydia. I have only been with one guy since my last test so I assumed that I received it from him. However, he went recently to get tested. His urethra was swabbed and then he also had blood tests run. The doctor came back after a few minutes and said that the swab test came back negative, but in 2 weeks the blood tests may say differently. I have always heard that Chlamydia cannot be detected from blood tests, so how is this possible? And how could I have gotten it if not from him?
a blood test will tell someone if they were ever infected with chlamydia. it doesn't represent a current infection.. Most likely if he was the only one you were with he had it and got treated (A) with a diagnosis (B) he was treated for something else and didn't know it and it cured it.. zithro and doxy are used for other illness's
