Confused

by ConfusedAngel, Jun 30, 2009 06:14PM
Hi. I tested positive for chlamydia and am going for treatment in the morning. I have been faithful to my partner and he says that he has also. We have been together for about 8 months. I am not interested in looking for blame etc and we have both just accepted that one of us had it going into the relationship. Neither of us have ever had symptoms and we have had unprotected sex all that time. I think i am just confused about the lack of symptoms. My doctor says that i could have had very mild symptoms or none at all...but if i have had this for 8 months (at least) then surely I would have noticed something!!

Also I am worried that there may be long term effects as i have been untreated for so long.

My bf hasnt been tested yet but is going for treatment next week. Should he get tested before treatment in case i had a false positive. I went to the clinic for treatment of genital warts - could this have affected my result?

I think that in something like 75% of cases in women, there are no symptoms for chlamydia, or some so slight that they go unnoticed.

It would be a good idea for him to be tested just to be sure, but I wouldn't think it's necessary.
