Doc Says BF tested false positive for Chlamydia?

He says he hasn't been unfaithful, however I did sleep outside of the relationship on a break up 3 years ago.  I don't have health insurance so I havent been to the gyn in a while.  What does it mean when a doctor gives you a blood test for a general routine physical and then calls to tell you - your tested false positive for chlamydia?  I think I should get an exam asap but I am also concerned about how long I may have had this!  What kind of damage could I have done to my reproductive organs if I have carried this for all this time.  I do not use any Birth control with the hopes of getting pregnant sooner or later.  Will I ever be able to get pregnant when this is over?

What makes him think its a false positive?  I'd wonder if the blood test was positive, but the urine test was negative.

You wouldn't have had chlamydia for 3 years with no symptoms at all.  I think you should test to know for sure, but if you are positive, its a newer infection than that.

Since you don't have health insurance, go to Planned Parenthood or an std clinic.

when the doc says you've tested FALSE postive for chlamydia, doesnt that mean you have previously tested for chlamydia it was positve but actually the test was inaccurate and therefore now you are FALSE positive in ergards to the original test? or maybe i am just interpretting your post all wrong :S

you either test postive or negative for chlamydia.
however if you do another test without treatment and you find that results contradict then thats when you can either get a false postive (when the previous test showed postive but you are actually negative) or a false negative (when the previous test showed negative but you are actually postive)

..i hope i havent rambled on about something completly off topic! :S
also i thought that you can only test for chlamydia througha urine test or a swab not a blood test

The blood tests are pretty inaccurate, and really should only be used when trying to find a reason for infertility, and even then, its a guess.

Urine or swab tests are absolutely the way to go.
