False Positives for Chlamydia?

False Positives for Chlamydia?

Hi to all.  I have been dating my girlfriend for around 9 months.  About 3 weeks ago she went in for her annual.  That day she told me that she had some type of bacterial infection... tight clothing..etc.  She told me that it was the reason why she had a little discharge and a light "smell".  I was unaware of any type of "discharge", but I am also a little ignorant to "girl things".  They gave her some medicine and we marched on.  I think a day or two later the clinic called her up and said that she had tested positive for Chlamydia and that I needed to come in and get tested and treatment as well.  She had gone to the local Health Department but I decided to go into my personal "Doc" because I have medical insurance.  I went through the painful swab and was treated with Doxycycline.  A couple of days later the PA called back and told me that my test results came back negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.  Ok...  now I am confused.  I know that I had not been sexually active with anyone else since we have been seeing each other.  I confronted her about it and she too was baffled.  She told me that she swears that she hasn't been with anyone else since two months before we started sleeping with each other.   I am questioning her and thinking the worst while she is claiming that she has been faithful and that there has been situations where "False Positives for Chlamydia" has been documented.  I am confused, she seems to be confused....  I need some help...  I want to think on the bright side...  but everything I read and everyone I have talked to tell me that the signs point to shadiness.

Well there are two senerios, you could have had a false Neg. of she could have had a False Pos.

Since she also had a BV or Yeast infection it is likely she had a false positive unless she cheated on you... Now a question, did she get treated for the Chlamydia?... I know you said they treated her for the abnormal bacteria but you don't indicate if she was ever treated for the clap.

Anyways if she has not been treated yet she can get a second test to see if she had a false, pos. If she has been treated then you will never know if it was a false positive on her behalf or a false negative on your behalf or if she cheated.
