test and was also tested for stds and it was a pee test and it came back negative. When my boyfriend went and got tested, a swab test as well, his results came back negative! Is there a possibilty that the tests could be wrong. Ive started the treatment a day ago if i retest can the results be faulty because of the treatment?
I'm going through something very similar! I sometimes wonder about the accuracy of these tests...I was re-tested yesterday and should get the results later today. In response to your question, whether or not it would effect your result if you were to re-test probably depends on the type of test you had (I know it's a cervical swab, but I think there are a couple different ways they can do it) and the duration of your treatment. Sometimes treatment for chlamydia is single dose pill, sometimes it spreads out over the course of a few days. I would guess that one day of treatment would not kill every single bit of traceable bacteria unless it's the 1g dose of Zithromax intended for immediate treatment. Even then, dead chlamydia DNA can still show up in a test but it depends on which type they do as to whether or not it will effect your result. After doing a lot of research into this (knowing that I have not cheated on my husband) I would advise anyone who gets a questionable result on a test to hold off on treatment and get re-tested as soon as possible.
