False or Lucky

by xjust_wonderingx, Nov 04, 2008 08:42PM
In July I tested positive for Chlamydia and High Risk HPV. I was treated and retested with a negative. My boyfriend was never tested. We had protected sex a few time and then about 2 months ago (being stupid) we had unprotected sex, we continued having unprotected sex (continuing to be stupid) I decided to go get tested again last week,  so i could be re treated, my test came back negative.

Im wondering if I had a false positive in July or possibly a false negative last week.
Or if its possible for chlamydia to clear on its own without treatment.

Whats more likely?

I'd say one of them being a false result is more likely.  To help clear this up, your bf needs to test, as you won't get a doctor to treat you again with a negative test and you might need it.

Is it possible for him to have never gotten it?

Its possible, but not likely.

Well, Im making him go get tested. Im kinda thinking the first test was a false positive because we've been having sex protected and unprotected for over a year and neither one of us had symptoms, But just to be safe.

Thanks for the info!
