Gonorhea of the throat

If you were to have caught Gonorrhea from giving oral sex, would an ordinary STD test, as in a swab test detect the infection if it were of the throat or would you need a swab taken of the throat? What are the consequences of gonorrhea of the throat being left untreated?

You would need to have an oral swab done.

I don't know how common it is with oral gonorrhea, but untreated gonorrhea can cause something called disseminated gonorrhea infection, which is when the gonorrhea spreads to other parts of the body.
