How long can you carry chlamydia?

My bf broke out in a rash a few weeks ago, we both rushed to get our tests in fear of genital herpes.....he turns out negative for everything and they cant figure out what the rash is.....me on the other hand, i come out positive for chlamydia, and i have not been with anyone else but my bf, who is neg for chlamydia. neither of us has cheated, but my ex, who i slept with back in april, before my current bf, had cheated on me numerous times and i had not known about it untl recently. is it possible for my ex to have given it to me and i carried it for so long while my bf doesnt have it? to me none of this makes any sense. my ex is getting his tests done now, and if he is negative for everything as well, how do i have chlamydia when i havent slept with anyone but my bf?

If your bf was neg and you two have been sexually active for awhile I would question if you had a false positive or he had a false Neg.

Have either or both of you been treated? If not I would get a second test, both of you... if have been treated and he hasn't have him tested again to ensure he didn't have a false neg. If you both have been treated then you won't ever know if it was a false pos. for you or a false neg for him.
