I tested positive, him negative

I tested positive, him negative

I recently found out that my husband had been unfaithful for the past few years.  He had oral sex with several women and vaginal sex during a "longer" term affair.  After finding this out I told him we would not engage in intercourse until we were both tested.  I was tested 2 weeks ago and tested positive for Chlamydia.  He went to get tested this week expecting that it would be positive but it was negative.  His doctor did his through a urine test, and is refusing to give him the antibiotics without a positive test result. I have not had sex with anyone else in more than 20 years so the only way I could have contracted it was through him.  Is it possible for him to have given it to me without him actually having it?  I'm not willing to repair my marriage until this is figured out.  THere is no way that I am pregnant, are there other reasons for a false positive?

it's possible he realized he had it, and got it taken care of before you found out and after he had given it to you, and you had just not given it back to him yet, he sounds pretty dishonest so he could have got it, took care of it, and not admit it to you,

good luck!

Shemey, the same thing went through my mind as well.

Either that, or he got a false negative test.  He might not have given the first part of his urine stream, might not have waited an hour from his last urination to give this urine sample, etc.

I find it totally irresponsible that his doctor wouldn't treat him with your positive test.

Oh unless his doctor knows he was already treated for it.

I have his test results from a previous test his doctor did and it was negative.  His urine sample was not first thing in the morning, and I'm not sure if he waited and hour as he was not told to.  He truly believes he probably has it and wants his doctor to treat him as though he does, knowing that i will not move forward with him being treated.  He has talked to the doctor and nurse in my presence to say he is positive he is the one that gave it to me and he wants to be treated.  He did take the antibiotic Flagyl for an intestinal problem, could that have gotten rid of the chlamydia?

No, but when did he take that?  Was that within 2 weeks of his testing?  That could give him a false negative.  Will your doctor treat him?

The Flagyl was last year, so that's not the case.  I have a call into my doctor to see if she will treat him.  Not sure if this is the case in every state, but in our state I needed to tell them WHEN he was being treated, so I'm thinking my doctor may go ahead and do it.  H'm really wondering if it was a weak urine sample.  Could that cause it to be negative?

Absolutely it could.

Good luck.
