Ineffective antibiotics?

Hello--

I finished my course of erythromycin a couple days ago, but my symptoms are continuing (constant mucus discharge, pain while urinating and itchy urethra). Could the antibiotics have failed? I didn't realise this could happen. Or do the symptoms persist a while after the infection itself has been eliminated. Please help. Thank you.

Symptoms can take 2 weeks to clear but if the medication worked/working you would notice a decrease in symptoms. If you have not follow up with your Dr.
