Is it possible not to give chlamydia to a long term partner for an extended period of time?

I am in my eighth month of pregnany and have just tested positive for chlamydia. My husband has not yet been tested but will be soon. I tested negative for chlamydia at 3 months pregnant. Ignoring the cheating scenario, is it possible that he had it before we became sexually active in our relationship and I have just now contrated it. What are the chances a false positive test now, or a false negative test the first time?? Any information would be highly appreciated.

P.S. Yes, I know most of you will say one of us was cheating. I would like you to limit responses to your opinion on if the things I mentioned are possiblilities. Thank you.
