Since you both tested positive, there is no chance for a false positive, etc.
I am SO sorry to say this, but the only way this could have happened is through sex with someone else. Chlamydia can go a long time without giving you symptoms, but not 7 years. The longest I've seen personally is a year and a half, and I've seen some experts say 4, but I've never heard of anyone going 7 years.
Have you had babies? If you have, my guess is that they tested you during your pregnancies. You should talk to your OB about this. He/she will have a record of testing. If you were negative then, and positive now, its a new infection for you. Even if you didn't have symptoms, your test would be positive for it, if you had it.
Other infections don't turn into chlamydia.
