Minocyline for Chlamydia Question

I apologize in advance if this question has already been posted.  I looked around but didn't find an answer.

I am currently traveling in Europe and am not returning for another 2 weeks.  I just found out from my boyfriend that he tested positive for Chlamydia.  According to him, tests for syphillis (syphilis) and gonnorea were negative.  We had unprotected sex prior to my leaving about a week ago.

My question is:  I am currently on a treatment of 100 mg nightly of minocycline for acne.  I have read that minocycline is active against Chlamydia.  I do not have any symptoms right now and was wondering if the minocycline will cure the Chlamydia in two weeks?

Of course, when I return to the US I will get further tests and treatment if necessary, I just was wondering how much I need to worry over the next two weeks.  Thank you for you time.

I'm not sure about that.  I've never seen minocycline mentioned anywhere in my research.  It is possible that it has suppressed the growth of the bacteria but has not killed it completely.  I would wait a couple of weeks before testing to ensure proper results.  The medication may give you a false result.  Good luck.

minocycline is a form of tetracycline and will be effective to treat chlamydia. Dose should be twice a day for a week.

Best to get tested when you get back anyways as that's not the usual treatment for Chlamydia...  I really don't know much about antibiotics though.
