Persistent chlamydia with uncommon history

I red most of posts on this forum and it look like one can't get chlamydia other way than sexual contact. Well what about my case:
I have diagnosticied chlamydia before 7 yaers (2001). Before geting chlamydia  I have sex with only one women which was my girlfriend at time when chlamydia is discovered. Then she was done chlamydia test and she was negative. So how that could happen? Is there any other way of transmission than sx? After that I was taking treatment Sumamed (Azithromycin)
, Doxicilin, Claritromicin and other, more than 1 times, initialy simtomps are gone but test is allways positive. After that from time to time (one in few years) i get simptoms (urethra pain, redness and sensibility of penis skin and top of penis), test +, Zerythromicin or others and simtomps gone but test is always +. Is there any hope to cure this? Yesterday doctor prescribe me 14 days of Cipro (2x1), and that 1 gram of Azithromycin first, 7-th and 14-th they after finish Cipro.
And now bright side: me and my girlfrend meried and we have healthy boy (4.5 years)...

so are you still positive with chlamydia even after several treatments? is that possible? Do you know why you could still be positive besides other negative factors? I've been untreated for so long, i'm scared that'll happen to me..let me know. I'm glad that ya'll are happy with a healy son though

Has your wife tested recently?  Has she been re-treated every time you've been retreated?

Its possible she has it, and you two just keep re-infecting each other.
