I tested positive for Chlamydia in November and have since been treated twice for it. The first time was a weeks worth of antibiotics, and the second time was both a large shot and another week of stronger antibiotics. After both rounds of pills and waiting a week I am still having some signs of an infection. I did follow the directions on both rounds of antibiotics including no alcohol while taking the second round. So this brings up a few questions:
1. On the second round of antibiotics I was not able to take the pills at exactly the same time every day. However I never missed a dose but would say take one between 7 and 10am and the other at 9 to 1am. Could this cause an issue as far as the effectiveness of the treatment?
2. I have a history of prostate issues that can have signs like that of chlamydia but when tested always came back negative for everything. Usually my problems would be feeling like I have to urinate a lot and kind of pain near the tip of my penis
and the burning was rather minor. The burning was actually the same as before when I had other issues that never tested positive for chlamydia. Is it common
4. If I did have it is it possible that I have had it for 2 years? The only person I could have gotten it from tested negative and am not sure how else I could have received it.
P.S. I have done a lot of reading on these forums but if the question has been answered I would greatly appreciate a link.
Yes I did test positive. The symptoms I have had were similar to those I have had in the past when I tested negative. I still have some of the symptoms even after two rounds of treatment. I am getting retested next week.
