Prostatis or STD

Prostatis or STD

About a month ago I began having symptoms of Prostatis several days after receiving oral sex from a girl.  I have had the same exact symptoms twice in the past after a sexual encounter, every time I became very nervous afterward (I cheated and got nervous about std's clamydia (chlamydia)/gonorhea).  I was actually broke up with my girlfriend this time but got back together shortly after I received the oral sex and are still together. We had unprotected sex before I started having the symptoms. After the symptoms began I told her about the prostatitis but not the oral sex... don't want to tell her. My symptoms are pain/pressure in the perinium, burning after urinating and some redness/pain on end of penis when I have the burning, intermittent pain in right testicle, general dull intermittent pain in the pelvis low/back, dribbling after urinating and frequent/urgent need to urinate.  I have had no penile discharge but sometimes after urinating or a bowel movement especially I get a white/cloudy last few drops of urine (I have to push/squeeze a lot to get this. The symptoms have seemed to be worse when I am experiencing anxiety even during treatment. I went to the doctor about a week after the oral sex and was tested for Clamydia (chlamydia) and Gonorhea, and a UTI (all were urine tests).  All tests were negative. I talked to the girl who gave me the oral sex and she got tested by throat swab for clamydia (chlamydia) and gonorhea and was negative (so she says... I mostly trust her). I was given Levaquin 500mg for a month by my doctor... also saw the urologist 2 weeks later. I was also given paxil and xanex for anxiety. My girlfriend and I did not have sex  for a couple weeks and started again about a week ago.  I was still on the antibiotic but am now off it.  I recently started to have the symptoms again... but have been worrying about it again.  The symptoms are terrible when I am nervous but almost none when I'm not.  I have done a lot of research online about non-bacterial prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome and my symptoms seem to fit it exactly but I am still very nervous about this.  Could this be Clamydia (chlamydia) or Gonorhea?  How many days should I wait after I quit taking the levaquin to be retested for clamydia (chlamydia)/gonorhea to ease my mind.

Thanks for the good words, I have visited other sites, some seem to suggest that it would be rare to be infected with chlamydia from oral sex, others claim that it is quite reasonable to expect to be infected this way.  Who do you believe?  The symptoms you describe sound exactly like mine, low back pain, testicle pain and swelling, buzzing or creeping feeling in penis and scrotum and severe pain in lower abdomen or bladder.  No discharge is visible, but I do have classic prostititis symptoms perinium pain, frequent trips to the head.  It's been four days since treatment (zithromax 1000g) and I've been on Cipro for over a month, so it sounds like I should be expecting to start feeling better soon.  I have been tested, five days ago, but no word yet, maybe tomorrow.  Good luck finding something that works,  Keep us posted, I'll do likewise.

I guess i believe you can get something from oral sex although I think it would be rare.  This stuff is sure a headache... very stressfull to me!  I spoke with my family doc tonight and he does not think it is an std, but I am going to be retested a couple of times here in the next week or so... hopefully just to ease my mind! lol.  Well hope u get your results tommorow.

A little update on my situation,  My tests came back as negative, I am off all meds, and I am almost symptom free.  I still have some minor perinium and testicular pain several times during the day, and lower back pain, but most other symptoms are gone.  I'm told by a friend with a history of prostate problems that it may take as long as a couple months to lose all symptoms.  I'm getting started on a program of exercise (P90X) and taking steps to promote prostate health, including diet, cutting back on alcohol consumption, herbal remedies, and no more playing around.

I hope all is well with you and you are finding some relief.  Give me an update.

My symptoms have been pretty well gone... still bothering me somewhat at times but for the most part are gone.  I am going to the doctor this week for another round of tests so I will let you know.  I am all but certain that my situation has all been caused by stress... I should know for sure here soon. Will keep you posted.
