Reaccuring chlamydia?

by rationalmind, Dec 28, 2007 12:33AM
Recently I tested positive for chlamydia.  I was given one large dose of Zithromax to treat the infection.  The symptoms disappeared but reappeared after one month (in which I had no intercourse- I had broken up with my GF).  I tested positive for chlamydia and got some looks of disbelief from the nurse practicioner when I told her I had not had any sex whatsoever. This time I was prescribed Zithromax in one large dose (it may have been amoxycilin, I'm sorry but I threw away the bottle).  For future reference (not that I am planning to get Chlamydia again but sh#t happens), is it possible for these antibiotics to be less than 100% effective in treating chlamydia?

my daughter also had chlamydia and was given 2 capsules to get ridof it and thought it was gone and since has gotten pregnant by her new boyfriend only to find out she still has it and now was given a powder to take and her boyfriend has about 30 pills to take,so you can still have it even after you have taken the meds.

While most of the time chlamydia will clear up with the medication everyones bodys are different so yes it can happen. And you know first hand. I probably wouldn't take any drugs unless my doctor gave them to me though like jedispider said although that would work. More info at http://yourstdhelp.com
