SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME

I have had chlamydia for the past 6 months now and I've had it before, almost a year ago. I am not working nor have I been able to find work, so receiving even the reduced price for treatment and medication at Planned Parenthood has been a challenge. Also, I am much too embarassed to tell my parents, so asking them for help is out of the question. However, recently I found six individually packaged tablets of Azithromycin in our medicine cabinet, each 250 mg. They were under my mother's name and had been sitting in there for about a week. This was strange I thought, because my mother is not one to forget to take her medication. Lower abdominal pain has been great, many cases of diarrhea and shortness of breath, foul smelling and thick greenish discharge, trouble sleeping and constant thoughs of never being able to conceive children run through my mind. So, out of desperation, I took all of the medication about five minutes ago. My question is: Is 250mg X 6(1500mg) enough to treat such a pro-longed infection?

You took 6 pills all at once?  First of all, Anti-biotics need to be administered over a period of time, not all at once.  Secondly, this doesn't sound like chlamydia.  You certainly need medical help.  Tell your parents about all the abdominal pain and diarrhea, but you can ask her to step out of the exam room when the physician arrives.  (Depending on your age.)

Also, you need to be tested for a battery of things, especially pregnancy.  I am sorry that you cannot trust your mother, but she is going to wonder where the Zithromax went when she goes to take it.

Please take this opportunity to find someone who can help you with all of this.

I was just treated for Chlamydia.  They gave me a one-time dose of two 500mg tablets of Zithromax and said I did not need to followup.  I have read so much about STDs I can't say if your symptoms are normal for this or not.  If they do not clear up within the next couple days you definitely need to be tested for other things.  I don't know about your state, here the county health departments treat you free for STDs.  Good luck.

@HotterInHouston: Well I found out that the treatment for Chlamydia requires a one time dose of two 500mg tablets of Azithromycin = 1000mg of Azithromycin. I only took 500mg more than the recomended dose. What difference does it make to take four 250mg tablets at once or two 500mg tablets at once?

Do not self medicate, see a DR. Also use condoms.
