Should I get another Chlamydia test?

Should I get another Chlamydia test?

Hi, I had a boyfriend for 2 years, who apparently gave me Chlamydia, I got the luxury of finding out from a new sex partner 1 1/2 years after the ex and I broke up.  I had Chlamydia 7 years ago with really bad symptoms, so this time around it went unnoticed.  As soon as I got the phone call I went to the Clinic and got it taken care of... after a week I started to feel different, i.e. lower abdominal pain was gone (I pawned that off on the birth control shot, and not an STD).  So I'm like "Oh, I guess I did have a symptom, and now it's gone yay!"

Now, fast forward, 5 months... I've started dating again, and today noticed a different vaginal smell.  It's not bad, just stronger, I recently got back on birthcontrol, and I've heard tight panties and shaving can cause that too... So i'm wondering if I should get retested (no one would have given it to me, yet), or blow it off... I guess I'm just statistically wondering how often treatment doesn't work?... pain went away = work?, stronger sent = fail?

I had to have had Chlamydia for 3+ years, and didn't know... can a longer infection be any different to treat?... I really think I'm just paranoid... but should I be concerned?  Always makes me wonder why there is no "follow up tests" for such things >.>

I'd doubt this is chlamydia 3 years later, but you should go into your doc to get some testing done.

You might have bacterial vaginitis, which wouldn't be all that surprising since you just started the pill again.

Its also a good time to test for stds, and have your new partner(s) test as well.

no no... I tested positive for Chlamydia in October of last year... and that symptom I had was gone like a week later... I haven't had sex since then though (5 months, not 3 years)... anyway have you heard of people taking the antibiotic, abstaining from sex, and not being cured?

Oh sorry - yes, its possible, but highly unlikely.

Since you are starting to date again, testing now can ease your mind, and your partner(s) can know that you are std-free.
