Test result

by Petr, Nov 03, 2009 12:01PM
Hi Doctor!!!

On 10/15/09 I had sex (I was using condom, but also I had oral sex). On 10/20/09 I did a STD test (HB, RPR, HIV, Herpes I &II, Chlamydia). Everything was negative. But my sex partner did same test couple days later and it showed positive on Chlamydia. Doctor I have two questions 1. I had oral sex  - is it possible to get Chlamydia? 2. How long does it take to appear Chlamydia in the blood after infection (in my case i did test after 5 days - i am worrying about is it enough time to get right result???).

Thank You.

Proper testing for chlamydia is done by urine and swab of the penis or cervix.  Oral chlamydia is extremely rare and not a risk worth worrying too much about.  The person would have to have had chlamydia orally for you to get it that way. But again...that very very rarely happens.
