What do "out of range" results mean?

by mjonis, Jul 31, 2009 03:12PM
I got my results and there's 3 columns:  In Range, Out of Range, Reference Range
It LOOKS like they did a Chlamydia/GC RNA/TMA test, which I think is Genprobe's Aptima GC

The Gonorrhoea test says "not detected" in the In Range and Reference Range columns.  The Out of Range is blank.

The Chlamydia test shows: "detected" in the Out of Range, and Not Detected in the Reference Range.  The In Range is blank.

There's an asterisk next to the "detected" and a note that says a non-specific test was ordered and that an alternative test should be considered.
