?? I have been in a monogomous relationship for 11 years and i have recently been diagnosed with chlamydia. At first my gyne said it was a yeast infection then 3 days later she calls to say its chlamydia. My parnter insists he hasn't had any outside sex
enconters of any sort with anyone other than me. And I have been doing some online searching about chlamydia and brazilian waxing and while it is known that brazilian waxing can infect people with bacterial infections is chlamydia one of those bacterial infections? From what I've learned chlamydia is a bacterial infection of the genitary tract and that symptoms occur a good 3 weeks after initial infection. It had been approximately 4 weeks after my wax
experience when symptoms occured and when the waxing was done there was some bleeding involved down there. I guess the waxer removed skin as well when waxing down there. I really am just wondering could the brazilian wax
, but they are not STD infections. Chlamydia is an STD you almost always have to have sex to get it -its aquired through unprotected sex from an infected person. Chlamydia is not a blood borne pathogen so the bleeding after your wax is insignificant.
Thanks for your time and input on my concern im really perplexed and am having the hardest time trying to figure out how i could have gotten this. I tusted my partner but after this I dont know. As for chlamydia being a sexually transmitted disease i do understand that but what about the application of the wax so close the opening of mucosal membranes (if thats what its called)? I do know for a fact that it wasn't a fresh batch of wax as for double dipping the applicator im also not sure but i didnt see any extra sticks around and it having been my first wax there was a lot of waxing going on..
And if it wasn't for these sudden complications that arose i would have gone back to get another wax unknowing that i had chlamydia then what... could i have infected their batch of wax?
I think its safe to say that getting chlamydia from a brazillian wax is very very VERY difficult.
Yes i've read that it gets close to the vaginal opening, and we have discussed on this forum how chlamydia has to get inside the vagina to actually infect someone, thus you need penetrative sex to be infected with it.
To answer your last question the only thing that came to mind was how hot exactly is the wax? Some migh say, "yah okay its warm enought to favor the growth of it" but really its wax there aren't nutients there too keep the bacteria alive very long. Others might say, "well it could be hot enough to kill the little sucker." I personally believe it can not survive to then infect someone wax even if hot is not a good favoring condition for chlamydia to grow. I could imagine it to be hot like fresh candle wax, I don't know I've never gotten a brazillian wax.
Read this post it might help: Then, you should have a heart to heart conversation with your partner.
Thanks again for your advice that link was very helpful. I guess i myself am in denial about the whole thing I just can't believe it still. Im going to look for the first topic on this forum about how exactly its contracted. Thank you again
