smear and my first pregnancy exams with a different ob/gyn (I since switched doctors because I was not comfortable with the first one). Shouldn't he have tested me for these diseases? And wouldn't he have said something when I visited the second time to get my other pregnancy related test results?
What are the chances of having either a false positive in the first test or a false negative now?
I've had is with my baby's father who I've been with for four years. Is it possible to have contracted these diseases before that and have tested negative for them all this time?
Or is the most likely scenario that he had contracted the diseases within the last two months and passed them on to me?
it is very unlikely that the test results produced a false answer. You and your baby's father need to be treated for both Chlamydia and gonorhea. Also, you and your baby's father need to be tested for HI V and all possible STD's. Talk with your doctor about the best treatment that won't interfere with the health of you baby. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT have sex
and STD's. If you do not trust your doctor don't be afraid to get a second opinion, this is your body and your health, other people could care less, so you need to take the initiative.
-Best of luck
Call your first doctor to see if on your record it states whether or not you were tested for STD's. Usually when your pregnant they test for STD's but there is a chance they did not unless the specifically asked them to.
Actually, pregnancy can cause some false positives on these tests, and its pretty rare to have both chlamydia and gonorrhea, so I'd ask to be rested before taking the meds, as you are pregnant.
Your hubby can help expedite this process by testing himself. Its a MUST that he does.
