Hi my sis has been told by her gp that she has chlamydia after doing a smear test. She has been treated but she has only had one partner in her life. When she told her boyfriend of five years and finished the relationship because she thought that he had been unfaithful he said he had nt .She told him he needed to be treated he got tested and all the results were negative. Before this my sis had bacterial vaginosis and was treated for same this was about a month before she was told she had chlamydia.Could the bacterial vaginosis affected the chlamydia test or are the results wrong.
If she had a current bv infection, it could have, and there are some tests that have higher rates of false positives than others. If she could find out the name of the test, I could give you a better idea.
I am experiencing the same issue... my test was some nucleic acid test which was done by testing DNA collected by a probe inserted into my cervix... I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my boyfriend is not cheating on me and his results are coming back negative. This is my second time being diagnosed with chlamydia shortly after being diagnosed with BV, whereas my one and only partner's results are negative.
THIS IS MY SECOND TIME BEING DIAGNOSED WITH CHLAMYDIA AFTER HAVING BEING TREATED FOR BV. MY FIANCE WAS TESTED AND HIS RESULTS CAME BACK NEGATIVE AND I HAVE NEVER CHEATED ON HIM SINCE WE'VE BEEN TOGETHER. SO I AM VERY CONFUSED AND WONDERING IS HAVING BV SOMEHOW CONNECTED WITH CHLAMYDIA. I NEED ANSWERS!!
I was positive for chlamidia I've never had it b4 and have had the same partner for 3 goin on 4 years nether of us has cheated. Yet my doctor said he more then likely slept with someone else. I believe my boyfriend. And were both in shock
