chlamydia in your throat

I was diagnosed with chlamydia and put on zithromax.. i aslo engadged in oral sex with the same person.. i wanted to know if the antibiotics would also clear up chlamydia everywhere or would i have to take something else for my throat. I dont have any symptoms and its been a month but i hear that throat chlamydia is asymptomatic i am so confused.

Oral chlamydia or any std is very rare.  So, it is doubtful that you were infected orally.  I   believe the medication is the same.

Ya i have read that oral chlamydia is rare but than i read that you can get it. i just dont know.. So you are saying that zithromax would have cleared a poss throat infect due to chlamdyia if i had one?

IF you had one, yes.  You would need a throat culture to tell for sure.  But if it was really that much of a concern, don't you think everyone who has been diagnosed with chlamydia would be tested orally?  Anything is possible but unless there is sufficient reason to, you should be positive and assume you didn't/don't have chlamydia in the throat.
