chlamydia or not

Ok I recently got out of the hospital I had severe head injuries and was catheterized for a good few weeks. When I was released I started to notice that one of my testicles was not hurting but just feeling abnormal. I went to the doc twice and i receieved doxycycline and zithromax which i took the doxy for two trials n the zithro for 1. While on the meds i felt so much better but after taking them my symptoms came back. The zithro seemed to keep the symptoms away for longer than the doxy. Now I've never had discharge only the testicle that feels weird maybe a little swollen but doc says he doesnt see anything. Could this possibly be Chlamydia????

just wanted to add that i have never had unprotected sex before in my life although i did break a condom just one time i can recall recently, is it possible this could have been the case? Also I did not start having symptoms until at least 6 maybe 7 months after this.

I would think this has far more to do with the cath than an std.

Have you given your doc a urine sample?  He/she can tell if you have a urinary tract infection from the cath, which is pretty common.  The doxy and zithro won't cure a UTI, but can slow the growth of bacteria enough that you'd start to feel better.

Yes i have given a urine sample and they come back negative but as a lot of people state that it must be the first urine sample of the day and mine was not. They also did not state a positive test for a uti or chlamydia they just said it could have been a uti that was untraceable i just want to find out for sure that it is not chlamydia

It doesn't matter if its the first urine of the day.  If it was more than an hour since you had last urinated, its just as accurate.

im not sure if i remember how long it was i would assume an hour since i was waiting in the waiting room for quite some time. I just want a doc to tell me for sure it is not the std.

Did you actually have any std testing done?  If you haven't, then you should.  That's the only way a doc can tell you for sure if you have an std.

The meds you were given would have cured chlamydia if you had them at the proper doses.

i did not have std testing done but i have given two different urine samples which both came back negative. So a doc can't tell if i had an std from the urine? and i did take three different doses properly but my symptoms only went away for a few days. Is it possible my symptoms could be something else? all i have is a tender testicle not discharge that i am aware of unless i cannot tell because it is too little.

If they didn't do specific std testing, the urine test can't tell if you have an std or not.

Since you still have pain, you really should follow up with your doc.  Given that you took the meds, its not likely to be an std, and it really could be something else that needs prompt attention.

thanks for your help im going to see another doc in the morning..also it was never testicle pain just like a soreness feeling, i also told him i thought i could be chlamydia and he said its very unlikely since i was in the hospital for a while...idk if they would have picked it up if i had it or not from my blood even though they werent looking for it
