chlamydia treatment and intercourse

i was diagnosed with chlamydia and i got a one dose treatment for it and was advised not to have sex for a week. i didnt realli wait the entire week, does that mean it didnt work? i'm realli nervous. should i go back and get retested for it and go back on treatment?

Really, a whole 7 days would have hurt you not to have sex? It does not mean it didn't work.  If you had unprotected sex with the person who gave you chlamydia and they were not treated, you can be reinfected.  If it was with a new partner, you could have infected them. You should retest at least 30 days after you took the medication to make sure you were not reinfected.  And inform this partner that you were undergoing treatment if you haven't...it is the right thing to do.

it was protected sex and the person knows. i was very cautious with everything and i plan on getting tested again in 2 weeks.
