ive just been tested positive for clamydia (chlamydia). puzzled because ive been with my partner for nearly 3years and stayed truley faithfull to him. he says he hasnt been with anybody since we have been together which im finding hard to believe because i got tested last may which came back negative surely if hes had it for 3 years before we got together it would of showed on my test last year??? or could it have layed dorment in his system? ive always thought if you sleep with somebody with clamydia (chlamydia) then you get it straight away not a year or so down the line??? please provide answers. thanks

It would be terribly unlikely for you not to get this before unless you were using condoms.

Has he been tested?  Is he positive?  The only other thing I can think of is a false positive.  Since you are questioning his honesty, have him get tested and bring you a copy of the results.  If he is truly negative, you might have a false positive.

If he is positive, he might have some explaining to do.

I really don't like to tell you this but your boyfriend must be lying to you. Even if chlamydia hasn't caused you any problems and you had a test in May you would have tested positive. I doubt it was a false positive, but if you think it could be, get tested again and have your boyfriend tested as well.  You shouldn't have unprotected sex with him until he is treated, otherwise, you will keep giving it to each other.
