contagious through contact

by sipher68, Jan 18, 2009 01:50PM
My partner recently complained of mild genital itching. She assumed it was a yeast infection but tested positive for Chlamydia. We were both treated with antibiotics. During the time my partner was infected, our daughter developed a very brief conjunctivitis. It only lasted for a day or so. I've read that Chlamydia can cause conjunctivitis, so my question is; how likely is it that our daughter picked up the chlamydia via contact to my wife, who also had a brief conjunctivitis, and what are the possible problems that could arise if she did somehow contract a chlamydia induced eye infection. Could the infection spread?

Its possible, but not likely if it only lasted a day or so.  If it recurs, have her pediatrician check it.

Do you know how chlamydia entered your marriage?  If one of you has had other partners, make sure the other partners are notified so they can test and treat.
