continual bleeding

I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with chlamidia, i was initially diagnosed after having cramping (im female) and excess continual bleeding, nothing particularly heave, but differant to my natural period, i calculated that the date of infection was most likely the end of july this year. I was given the 4 pill   1 dose anti biotic (cant remember the technical name) which made me sick and was essentially ineffective. I then went back to doc and was given  a weeks course of doxycycline, my doctor prescribed me 200 mgm on first day and then 100 ( 1 pill daily) for a week. My course is due to finish tomorrow, and if any thing the bleeding has gotten some what worse. Being that i have now been bleeding for pretty much a month, you can imagine i am getting pretty fed up with this stupid disease and am walking around in a daze of crabby annoyingness, also cant take iron as apparently it interferes with the drug. Should i assume the infection is clear and the bleeding is just my body trying to cleanse itself? or should i maybe look to get another anti biotic?  Can any one advise me what the appropriate course of action is to take?

thanks any advice appreciated muchly.

Probably the body clearing its self. But I suggest retesting 3 weeks after medication to make sure.

Hi,  I think I might have Chlamydia and I'm waiting on the test results. Similar to you, I had bleeding (actually more like spotting) in the middle of my cycle when I shouldn't have anything. It started about 6 days ago and it was light pink and has decreased in amount and color (from pink to brown to light brown to almost unnoticeable) as each day passes.  Just curious as to how heavy your bleeding was prior to antibiotics? Did you need to wear a pad or pantyliner or could you get away without one? What color was it: red, pink, brown, light brown? I do not have any other symptoms other than spotting outside of my normal menstrual cycle. I know everyones symptoms and severity can be different but still curious to compare. Thanks!
