I keep seeing this "Up to 40% of women with untreated chlamydia will develop PID"
how long of a time frame before getting the medicine is chlamydia considered untreated?
1 year, 2 years, longer???

Did you mean how long does it take for chlamydia to develop into PID?  There is no specific time frame.  It mostly depends on the person and how fast the infection spreads to the fallopian tubes.  But I have read that the longest chlamydia has gone undetected (without symptoms) is about a year and a half.  By then I think it would be PID.

But even then only few cases get PID. Like 2terrified said, it all depends on your system
