i found out I had chlamydia about 2 days ago and I was given medication called azithromycin, which was 4 pills that I had to take all at once and  my partner also took the same pills... now that we both have taken the medication for it, it is a bad thing for us to keep having intercorse. my doctor told me to wait 6 weeks to make another appointment to have another test taken. I know if havin intercorse can re infect the chlamydia but if me and my partner both already took the medication can and how can we infect eachother. and how long does it take for the medication to work.

6 weeks?  You need to wait 7 days, as it can take that long for the meds to work.

If you've already had sex since you got treated, you both need to be treated again, because you've probably re-infected each other.

thanks for the reply but me and my partner both took the pills and didnt have sex unitl 24 hours which we were told by the doctor thats how long it takes for it to work. but im still not sure how we can infect eachother if we both took the pills. however im going back to my doctor this week to have another test done..

The pills take 7 days to work.  You won't have been cured within 24 hours.  Make sure to let the doc know that you all had sex.  You should both be retreated.

Since you had sex after you took the meds, you have kept the infection going.
