my partner tested positve for chlamydia

Hi,
About 2 years ago my partner cheated and in the couple of weeks he started suffering with pain a rash etc and it turn out that he has chlamydia. I also got tested and my results have come back negative but i am still worried that i might have it... is it possible that he has carried the infection for so long and not passed it on to me? and the other thing is could chlamydia lay dorment in me and not show up on the test?

I'm a little confused about something.  Did he say he got chlamydia from cheating 2 years ago, and just now got symptoms, or did he test positive 2 years ago, and you are still concerned?  

Its not at all likely that he would have it and not have passed it to you, and chlamydia isn't an infection that is or goes dormant.  If you have it, and get proper testing, it would have most likely shown on the test.  Were you treated anyway?  You should have been, just based on his results, unless you all always used condoms, or didn't have sex after he was with the other person.

If you are concerned, just go get tested again.  If money or lack of insurance is an issue, call Planned Parenthood or your local health dept.
