i have 1 son with my past partner and now i am married with my husband for 3 years and want to concieve (conceive) a baby.we went to the doc and did a laboratory test ( urine & blood sample).i also had my papsmear and the doctor found out that i have std (chlamydia) but my husband is negative with it.i am wondering how come i am positive & he is negative.i have been faithful with him ever since we got married but with him i caught him cheating on me and he admits he had sex with the girl.i am really confused because i know for a fact that i am not doing anything but i am positive while as with my husband he is negative.how could this happen?can we still concieve (conceive) even i am positive?what can we do?how did i get this?please help me.i am really confused.thank you

Hi there -

One of you had false results - either you had a false positive, or he had a false negative.  Have you taken the meds yet?  If you haven't, you could retest and find out if it was a false positive.

You should also find out what kind of test you had done.  If it was the new pap that automatically tests for chlamydia with it, then it could be a false positive.

If you've already taken the meds, then your husband needs to take them as well, just in case he had a false negative.   You should wait to have sex for 7 days from the time he takes his meds, if he takes them after you.

After that week has passed, you can start trying to conceive again.
