swab testing

I asked my doctor if I could have a swab test done on me to check for std's in order to make my girlfriend happy.  I had no symptoms and had not had any high risk unprotected sex with anyone.  the doctor advised me not to have the test performed because of the risk involved, and he never recommended testing by using a urine sample.  I hate to question a doctors orders but i needed a second opinion. Is the procedure really that dangerous?

There is no risk. If you want, go to your local health department clinic. They will be glad to do this easy swab test.
